Interesting and fun stuff for grown-ups grown ups

Parents Like Us is about providing the things that parents want, and whilst we all unanimously agree that keeping the children happy is a top priority — keeping mums, dads and carers happy is our priority too. At Parents Like Us, you’ll find a whole load of things to take part in which will broaden your world with your child, help you make informed choices and allow you some guilt-free relaxation to boot.

Click on any image, menu items, or the links provided, for more information.

Hands onandHands on2Hands On and Hands On2

this is where you get to have fun with your child whilst learning something new. No standing in the wings allowed; this is all about joining in! As well as taster sessions on a variety of activities from Celtic writing to hypnobirthing and pre-natal yoga, we also have Q&A sessions on homeopathic medicine (and how it works), getting baby to sleep and breastfeeding.

ShowtimeShowtime

step into our family entertainment marquee and you'll immediately be transported into theatre-world. A programme filled with music, dance, puppetry and drama will keep you and yours captivated, enthralled and enchanted throughout the weekend. Don't miss the world premiere of PLU's Sensory of Sound with dj mini dave; a must for grown ups and children aged 0 -3 years.
with up to 30 stands stacked full of products, support and advice, a cafe to relax in once you've had a browse, a leaflet posting area, staged interactive demos and live music scheduled throughout the weekend this is sure to be the hub of the festival. See Sales Pitch page for more info.

Demos

staged interactive demos in Sales Pitch include basic first aid for children and babies; what's happening in your compost box; dog training; putting up a tent (you against Tiso's!); real nappies; how to repair a puncture (and try out a bike) with Maggie from Try Cycling; exercise and games from Sick Kids, and lots more. See the daily diaries for timings.

Therapies
Therapies
our therapists have a marquee all of their own this year. Take advantage of our unique 15 and 30 minute reduced-rate sessions to introduce yourself to this wonderfully relaxing world. Find out more in the therapies page.
Box Office
Box Office
for tickets, information on anything to do with the festival, a free brochure, free hire of buggies and carriers, and free underwear for toddlers caught on the hop. At the moment we can't take ticket payments by card at the Box Office, so it's cash only here, I'm afraid (or cheque if you have a valid cheque card).

music
Music

we've got live music at various times throughout the festival, all provided by musicians for free. Don't let this stop you showing your appreciation with a £1 or two in their hat if you like what you hear! With classical guitar, folk, samba, fiddle, bluegrass, clarsach and a pipe band, there's surely something for everyone. See daily diaries for times, or music for more about who's playing.
Food
Food

we have rice, pasta, noodles, soup, sandwiches, pancakes, wraps, porridge and fruit - plus of course lots of home baking and biscuits and delicious fresh coffee. We don't sell fizzy drinks, sweets, crisps or candyfloss in the arena, but this doesn't mean you won't find anything sweet - there's an abundance of chocolate and cake for those who need a sugar rush.
