Tickets tickets BOX OFFICE: 0131 554 5043
SOLD OUT: SCIENCE WITH NINA

Tickets are required for all events in Hands On, Hands On 2 and Showtime. Unfortunately, due to demand in some areas, we cannot reserve tickets without payment. Prices have been set intentionally at a minimum – we are sorry but there are no plans to introduce further concessions at this point. We accept payment by cash, card or cheque (valid guarantee card required). One day we hope to have an on-line payment facility but we can't afford this at the moment.

Tickets may be obtained:

  • By Phone (weekdays, 10am – 7pm): telephone 0131 554 5043. A 50p charge is applied for debit/credit card transactions. The more you buy, the more you will save because you'll be charge 50p whether you buy one ticket or 10 in one transaction.
  • By Mail, to: Parents Like Us, Leith Primary School, St Andrews Place, Edinburgh EH6 7EG. Please telephone first to check availability. Please remember to include your address, a contact number and a stamped addressed envelope. Cheques received by mail must be cleared before tickets will be issued.
  • By Foot (Weekdays, 10am – 3pm): from the Parents Like Us office at Leith Primary School, St Andrews Place, Edinburgh, EH6 7EG. PLEASE TELEPHONE FIRST TO CHECK AVAILABILITY.
  • Please note that tickets ARE NON RETURNABLE.

HANDS ON & HANDS ON 2: Activities in this area are all about one-to-one with your child and admission for most activities requires one adult to accompany one child (AND join in). In the programme, the handsymbol means each ticket admits one child with one adult. The handssymbol means a maximum of two children may accompany one adult.

SHOWTIME: Tickets for Showtime range from £3-£4. Please see the full programme for prices of individual shows. Adults are free (EXCEPT for Sensory of Sound, because this is for grown ups too) but must be accompanied by at least one child. Where more than one adult is accompanying one child, each additional adult will be required to pay the full ticket price.

Obtaining tickets once the festival has started

At the event - tickets are available from the Information Point, in the centre of the arena on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Please note, cash only - we can't take cards or cheques at the event.

You can buy tickets at the Information Point for any event (on any day) that still has advance tickets available - this applies to most events, but check the online programmes for details. For activities and shows that are sold out in advance, a few tickets are kept back for sale on the day from the Information Point. Gates open 10am, and we expect additional tickets to sell out fast. Note that these tickets are on sale ONLY on the day of the show/activity - for example, you won't be able to get tickets on Friday for a sold-out event on the Saturday or Sunday. Advance tickets - until Thursday 8th Payment may be made by credit/debit card, cheque (payable to Parents Like Us), or cash.

Tickets purchased by phone or mail will be posted to you up to Monday 5th May. Tickets purchased on or after Tuesday 6th May will not be posted and may be collected from the PLU office until 3pm on Thurs 8th or from the Information Point when the festival opens on Friday 9th May 2008.
